It repels mosquitoes and roaches and at the same time has a very nice and distinct smell. For ease of use, it is in the form of a stick. Because we care about nature, we packaged the mosquito repellent in an organic or natural cardboard packaging.

Ingredients

The ingredients that ByeBite Original mosquito repellent contains are of natural and plant origin.

Olive oil, Candelilla wax, Coconut oil, Castor oil. Essential oils: Lemon eucalyptus, Eucalyptus, Lemon, Tea tree, Citronella.

INCI: Olea Europaea, Euphorbia Antisyphillitica, Cocos Nucifera, Ricinus Communis Seed Oil, Eucalyptus Citriodora*, Eucalyptus Globulus*, Citrus Limon Peel Oil*, Melaleuca Alternifolia*, Cymbopogon Winterianus*, Geraniol**, Limonene**, Citral**, Linalool**, Citronellol** (*BIO essential oils, **Allergens in essential oils).

Olive oil

Olives and related products (oil, pulp, leaf extract) have been used by the ancient Hellenes for more than 4,000 years for skin care to treat various health conditions, as well as as food and beauty. Homer once described olive oil as "liquid gold". One of the most important benefits of olive oil for the skin is antioxidant protection. Olive oil contains three main antioxidants: vitamin E, polyphenols and phytosterols.

When applied topically, antioxidants can help protect the skin from premature skin aging. Vitamin E contributes in part to the antiaging effects of olive oil by helping to restore skin smoothness and protect against ultraviolet light. Hydroxytyrosol, a rather rare compound found in olive oil, also prevents free radical damage to the skin.

Candelilla wax

Candelilla wax is entirely of vegetable origin. It is obtained from the leaves of the small Candelilla shrub, which belongs to the Euphorbiaceae family and is native to northern Mexico and the southwestern United States. It is yellowish brown, hard, brittle, aromatic and light, opaque in color.

Candelilla wax has been used in skin care products for over 100 years. Many of the skin benefits are based on how it created a protective agent to prevent moisture loss from the skin.

Coconut oil

Coconut oil is a vegetable oil rich in nutritious lipids that is used in cosmetics for its moisturizing and nourishing properties. Coconut oil contains a high concentration of lauric acid (about 50%), a fatty acid with a strong affinity for the proteins found in hair. Coconut oil keeps the skin smooth, soft and intensively moisturized. In addition, it is rich in vitamins A, B and E, which protect the skin from the formation of free radicals, which cause premature aging of the skin, wrinkles and spots. It rejuvenates the skin by removing the outer layer of dead cells and smoothes it. Because it is absorbed deep into it, it strengthens and deeply heals it, and it is also extremely effective in alleviating the consequences of excessive sunbathing.

Castor oil

Castor oil is a vegetable oil pressed from castor beans. It is a colorless or pale yellow liquid with a distinct taste and smell. It includes a mixture of triglycerides in which about 90% are ricinoleate fatty acids. Oleic acid and linoleic acid are the other two important ingredients. Castor oil is a good source of ricinoleic acid, an 18-carbon monounsaturated fatty acid. Among fatty acids, ricinoleic acid is unusual in that it has a hydroxyl functional group at the 12th carbon atom. The oil is a nourishing moisturizing agent for mature and sensitive skin.

Essential oils

Why do some essential oils protect against mosquitoes and other insects? Plants produce and use components called essential oils to defend themselves against many invaders. While chemical repellants work very reliably and their effect lasts longer, there are also advantages to natural repellants. Especially when using natural repellents, we don't have the annoying feeling that we would rather wash the repellent off our skin as soon as possible. Although essential oils are natural, they are not completely harmless. They should not be applied directly to the skin, as they mainly contain substances that are considered to be allergens. Therefore, when applying to the skin, almost all essential oils must be properly and appropriately diluted with oils, butters and other oil-soluble components.

Lemon eucalyptus

Lemon eucalyptus originates from Australia. The essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the leaves of the plant and has a characteristic fresh, lemony smell with a woody note. This type of essential oil is valued for its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. It has a beneficial effect on colds and respiratory problems. Because it contains high levels of citronella, it is often found in natural insect repellent products.

Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus is a genus of more than seven hundred species of flowering trees and shrubs from the myrtle family, Myrtaceae. Along with many other genera in the tribe Eucalypteae, including Corymbia, they are commonly known as eucalypts. Plants in the genus Eucalyptus have bark that is either smooth, fibrous, hard, or stringy, leaves with oil glands, and sepals and petals that are fused into a "cap" or operculum above the stamens. The fruit is a woody capsule commonly called "gum nut".

Most eucalyptus species are native to Australia and each state and territory has representative species. About three-quarters of Australia's forests are eucalyptus forests. A few species are native to the islands north of Australia, and a smaller number are found only outside the continent. Eucalyptus trees have been cultivated in plantations in many other countries because they grow quickly and have valuable wood, or they are used for pulp, honey or essential oil production. They have been removed in some countries because they can be flammable. When we talk about eucalyptus essential oil, we are talking about oil obtained from the species Eucalyptus globulus by steam distillation of the leaves.

Lemon

Lemon essential oil is one of the most versatile essential oils. With its refreshing scent, it increases concentration and cleans the room. It has many therapeutic effects in aromatherapy, which is why it is indispensable in the home pharmacy and household. The spectrum of use is very wide, as it contains many antioxidants, has an antibacterial and antiviral effect, strengthens the immune system, detoxifies, refreshes and cleans the air. It is emotionally stimulating and soothing. On an energetic level, it banishes negative thoughts and creates light. In combination with other essential oils, it is also used as a natural repellent.

Tea tree

The tea tree, also called melaleuca or tea tree, originates from Australia. Aborigines used it as an effective disinfectant for wounds. Its botanical name is Melaleuca alternifolia, and its essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the leaves. Tea tree essential oil is highly recognizable and useful due to its wide range of antiseptic and antimicrobial properties. It is used in aromatherapy mixtures to help the body fight various infections, as well as to strengthen the body's natural resistance. In cosmetics, it is used in the care of oily and acne-prone skin. It can be used to alleviate minor superficial cuts, burns and infections. In combination with other essential oils, it can be excellent at repelling various insects.

Citronella

Citronella is a plant that grows mainly in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. It grows up to one meter in height and has large flat leaves. The essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of dried leaves. Citronella has a sweet lemon scent and belongs to the group of essential oils with a middle note. It has an anti-inflammatory effect and is often used in mosquito and tick repellants.

Povezovanje, varnost in skrb za okolje

With ByeBite, we want to change the attitude towards coexistence with mosquitoes. With our product, anti-mosquito ointment, your summer evenings outdoors will from now on be relaxed, smiling and carefree and completely safe for you and the environment.
